Forum for Environment and Development

Forum for Environment and Development (ForUM)

The Norwegian Forum for Environment and Development (ForUM) is a network of more than 50 non-government organizations that focus on environment, development and peace.

ForUM was established after the World Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 with the objective of following up the work on sustainable development.

ForUM provides a meeting place where a professional level in the strategic and factual debate is maintained, where initiatives to forward sustainable development are created, and where strategies for influencing policy makers are developed. ForUM participates in international political processes, and facilitates contacts and the exchange of experience and resources (especially people) between Norwegian and international organizations.

Working Groups

Much of ForUM's work is carried out in working groups that are established when 3 or more member organizations wish to focus upon a given theme or topic.
